The changing automotive industry
The automotive industry is facing the challenge of developing innovative, environmentally friendly and efficient solutions. Sustainability is no longer just a trend, but a key requirement of consumers, companies and regulatory authorities. In this context, the choice of materials and products in workshops and car dealerships plays a decisive role.
Growing environmental awareness: Customers value environmentally friendly products and services. Workshops that offer sustainable solutions can set themselves apart from the competition.
Regulatory requirements: With stricter environmental regulations, garages and car dealerships must ensure that their operating practices and products used meet current standards
Long-term cost savings: Sustainable practices can not only help the environment, but also provide long-term cost savings through more efficient use of resources.

Features of the TUNBottle
Advantages of rPET in the TUNBottle
The use of recycled PET (rPET) in the TUNBottle brings numerous ecological and economic benefits:
1. Reduction of the ecological footprint: rPET reduces the need for new plastic, resulting in significant savings in CO₂ emissions and energy consumption.
2. Promotion of the circular economy: rPET supports the idea of the circular economy by promoting the reuse of materials and reducing waste.
3. Quality and safety: despite the high recycled content, the TUNBottle meets all the automotive industry's quality and safety standards for packaging. The climate-neutral production of the TUNBottle means that it has no negative impact on the climate, which is in line with global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
4. Sustainable resource management: The TUNBottle's full recyclability allows it to be used at the end of its life cycle, contributing to a more sustainable use of resources.
The use of rPET in the TUNBottle marks significant progress towards more environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging solutions that are both ecologically and economically beneficial.
Simple application, simple disposal
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Why is TUNAP introducing the PET bottle?
With the new packaging we want to make it easier for our customers to use. The TUNBottle does not require an additional filler neck when filling the tank. With the old packaging, this had to be laboriously screwed onto the tin can before filling. With the new bottle, the tanking protection can be easily overcome - the technical specifications meet the requirements. This saves additional material and, above all, time.
What bottle size is the TUNBottle available in?
The TUNBottle is (currently) available in one bottle size: with a capacity of 200 ml for the fuel variants diesel (984) and gasoline (974). The filling capacity usually extends to the beginning of the bottle neck.
How was the design of the TUNBottle developed?
The bottle design of the new TUNBottle is based on the injector. When you turn the motor component, you can see the shape of a bottle. This means that the intended use of the additive is now also reflected in the design of the bottle. In addition, the new bottle shape is also very comfortable to hold.
What are the advantages of the new packaging?
The new packaging offers several advantages for both the user and the environment. In terms of application, the TUNBottle is much easier to use. No additional filler neck is required; clean filling and odor prevention after use are ensured by simply resealing the bottle. In addition, the user can easily recycle the packaging by sending it to the dual system (plastic waste).
What impact does the new packaging have on transport and storage?
Changing packaging materials has many advantages in terms of transportation and storage. On the one hand, PET is much lighter - this leads to less fuel consumption and fewer CO2 emissions during transport. On the other hand, the synthetic material is resistant to rust formation.
How do the product and packaging fit together?
Thanks to innovative engine efficiency technology, the product itself has a positive impact on the vehicle by reducing emissions and immediately increasing the car's performance. Due to the lighter packaging material and a better PCF (Product Carbon Footprint: CO2 certificate of a product) over the entire life cycle (from production to use), there are lower emissions. In addition, the application is easier, which can have a positive effect on the entire application process in the workshop.
What do the symbols on the label mean?
Climate neutral symbol: Stands for 100% climate neutral packaging. "80% recycled" symbol: Represents the packaging material used - it consists of 80% recycled synthetic material. We give synthetic material a second chance. TÜV certificate: Stands for the proven effectiveness of the product in the areas of reducing emissions, reducing fuel consumption and increasing engine performance.
Do I need a filler neck to fill the product into the tank?
With the new TUNBottle you do not need a filler neck. The technical specifications of the bottle neck are standard-compliant and can overcome the refueling protection.
Is the product suitable for end users?
Products 984 and 974 are also suitable for end users as they have the necessary features such as a child safety lock and a tactile warning.
Which synthetic materials are used?
The TUNBottle is made from the following synthetic materials: rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), rPP (recycled polypropylene), HD-PE (high-density polyethylene).
What does TUNAP mean by shared responsibility?
Shared responsibility means that TUNAP participates in various environmental projects. In addition, we invest in research and development because our aim is to keep increasing the rPET content of our bottles. We would also like to encourage you, as our customers or users of the products, to think about disposal. Therefore, please do not interrupt the recycling cycle and dispose of the bottle in accordance with the regulations.
Which sustainable project does TUNAP support?
We support a clean ocean project called "Plastic Bank" and wind energy projects. You can find more information here.
Is the TUNBottle recyclable?
The TUNBottle is mainly made of rPET (and PET), which is 100% recyclable. If disposed of correctly, the TUNBottle will be included in the plastic recycling cycle and can be reused accordingly.
Is the closure also recyclable?
The cap is made of rPP (recycled polypropylene) and HD-PE (high density polyethylene) and like the rest of the bottle is also 100% recyclable.
What advantages does PET have compared to other packaging materials?
With its low weight, PET has advantages in transport: glass, for example, is significantly heavier and would cause higher fuel consumption and more emissions. The PET material is 100% recyclable: it can be reused after use - the textile industry, for example, uses recycled PET. The PCF is low compared to other materials such as glass or tinplate, resulting in a lower environmental impact.
What is the recycling rate for PET?
The recycling rate generally describes the proportion of recycled raw materials in a country's population. The recycling rates vary from country to country. In Germany, a total of 99% of plastic waste was recycled in 2017. Here, 46% came from mechanical recycling and 53% from energy recovery.
What is proper disposal of PET?
Correct disposal is crucial for proper recycling of the TUNBottle. To do this, the TUNBottle must be placed in the plastic waste - the green recycling circle is on the bottle label as an indication. Before the bottle is thrown away for plastic waste, it must be completely emptied and the lid screwed back on. (Please also note the respective country-specific disposal regulations).
What happens to the TUNBottle that is disposed of with residual waste?
If the TUNBottle is not fed into the dual system (e.g. in Germany through the yellow bag or plastic waste in general) and ends up in residual waste, it is used for energy recovery - so that it is burned. PET has a high calorific value that is comparable to paper, wood or brown coal. Therefore, various industries like the cement industry like to use this raw material to fuel various kilns.
